Liberals Just Can't Understand Mel
I love the title of this article: Mel Gibson's Holocaust project raises eyebrows.
When Mel Gibson mad The Passion of the Christ, the Media was aghast. And full of conflicting theories as to why someone would ever make such a movie. It's so full of violence, he's just making another gory film full of gratuitous violence. Or he makes the Jews the bad guys, he must be carrying out his father's anti-semitism. Or he's cashing in on Christ. Never did it enter their narrow little minds that maybe he was a believer just trying to present a historically accurate film about the death of Christ. Of course he had to have an ulterior motive.
Now that he's involved in another "controversial" film, Flory, a love story set during the holocaust, the media are all scurrying around again, what's the real motive? He must be trying to make up for his attacks on the Jews in the Passion. No, he's giving his dad an education. He's trying to make Catholics look good. Never mind anything Gibson says about it (or the people who are actually making this film). What's he really trying to say?
But of course, this is what you get when you have people who rarely or never attend church or are outright atheists providing commentary on the actions of people who take their faith seriously. It's also why you almost never see any religious person portrayed positively in a movie or TV show. Hollywood & media liberals have no idea what sincere religion is about, and people like Mel Gibson suffer for it.
